Hi, I'm Sean. I'm Alternate
Parallel Reality.
Here's some basic info for any of you bored enough or perverse enough to
want to know more about the person who puts this stuff together.
I turn 42 this year. I'm Australian. I live in South-East Queensland. I'm left-handed. I'm an existentialist and an atheist. I'm a bleeding-heart liberal (social libertarian, actually) greeny and a human rights activist with Amnesty International. I'm a disability carer. I'm a union representative. I'm a uni student working on a degree in counter-terrorism. There's a girlfriend, kids, a couple of cats and a whole lot of goldfish in this story too.
Music has pretty much always been an important part of my life. In addition to the acts that influence Alternate Parallel Reality, I'd call myself a fan of Ned's Atomic Dustbin, Underworld, The Clash, Jesus Jones, Bridezilla, Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine, The Wonder Stuff, Pop Will Eat Itself, Husker Du, Joy Division, Wilco, Alien Sex Fiend, British India, Psychedelic Furs, and too many more to mention.
I'm a film geek. I love everything from art-house to bad martial arts films and comedies, but I get especially excited about movies by directors like Takashi Miike, David Lynch, Andreiv Tarkovsky, David Cronenberg and Charlie Kaufman.
I read voraciously - devouring philosophers like Camus, Sartre, Foucault and Baudrillard, but also love writers like Ballard, Phillip K Dick, Douglas Coupland and Bret Easton-Ellis.
As well as being an existentialist, I'm an atheist. Not an agnostic. An atheist. Possibly even an anti-theist. Your superstitions offend me.
Ummm.... what else? I love cats - especially my two. I also like cooking, spicy foods, stand up comedy, anything to do with the internet, and playing C&C Generals on the PC when I should be studying.
